The facts
Elections BC’s preliminary initial-count table, timestamped 26 October at 10:34 PST, has the Conservatives leading in 63 of 93 districts, the NDP in 28 and the Greens in two. The Conservative vote share is 48.06%. [1]
The agency says the initial count finished on 25 October. Mail-in and absentee ballots are scheduled for the final count from 6 to 10 November; the figures remain subject to verification. [1]
The Tyee’s reporters identified Doerkson as the incoming premier. CityNews separately reported Eby’s concession and departure as party leader. [2][3]
Yukon Premier Currie Dixon congratulated Doerkson on 26 October and said he looked forward to working with his government. [4]
Still unconfirmed
- A swearing-in date and formal appointment have not been verified. Doerkson is described here as the incoming premier, rather than as already holding the office.
- The Tyee’s election-night tally was 64 Conservative seats and 27 NDP seats. The later Elections BC preliminary table gives 63 and 28; neither is a certified final result.
