The facts
The new entities are BGI Genomics Co., Ltd.; MGI Tech Co., Ltd.; and Shenzhen BGI Technology Co., Ltd., according to the Department of Homeland Security's notice. [1]
Adding them to the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act Entity List creates a rebuttable presumption that their goods were made with forced labor and are barred from import. It is not an unconditional prohibition on every unrelated affiliate. [1]
DHS's allegations concern links to Xinjiang labor-transfer programmes. BGI Group rejected the allegations in a statement reported by AP. [1][2]
The notice was placed on public inspection for scheduled Federal Register publication on 29 October. [1]
Still unconfirmed
